Wanda Hela Katz

I am a Mixed Media Book Artist creating unique and exquisite one of a kind miniature hand crafted books and folios using centuries old antique ephemera fragments sourced from around the globe, mixed media, rust and copper elements, vintage dyed textiles and an array of vintage papers and original photographs. I am lucky enough to call the UNESCO World Heritage Georgian City of Bath, UK home, where I work from my studio.

Testimonials

  • The way she transforms vintage ephemera into art is masterful, and she is always willing to share how or why a piece is created as it is. I highly recommend Wanda as a teacher and would encourage other artists who are inspired by her work to reach out for this same opportunity.

  • I had long admired Wanda’s incredible, poignant work, and when she mentioned she was offering 1:1 sessions, I jumped at the chance. I’m so glad I did. Not only is she a one-of-kind incredible artist whose work speaks to my soul, but she’s also warm, personable, and refreshingly down-to-earth.

  • I've so enjoyed my one-on-one art sessions with Wanda - right from the start, we connected! Her patient guidance and uplifting creative spirit make each session a joy. She has a way of making you feel confident in your own artistic expression, no matter your skill level. I always leave our time together feeling inspired and empowered to create.

  • Mentoring with Wanda has been truly transformational for my creative pracitce. Over several months she has supported me to create a beautiful handmade book honouring my Great Grandfather. I couldn't have done this alone. She has an open and generous spirit, sharing her creative wisdom, skills and ideas. Wanda has encouraged me to find my own creative 'book-art' voice that respects my cultural heritage. Wanda is a mentor in the truest sense, she helps us to fly higher than we could ever imagine.
